It’s been a while but SERR has finally instituted a small $5 increase in our membership fees. A single membership is $20, the couples fee is $30, and an entire family can register for $40. Ever wonder what you are getting for your money when you register for SERR? SERR contributes to Juneau youth running groups such as Girls on the Run and the Lynn Canal Running Camp. The Girls on the Run program combines an interactive curriculum and running to inspire self-respect and health lifestyles in pre-teen girls. The culmination of their season ends in a festive and inspiration 5k for the girls. The Lynn Canal Running Camp held their first ever running 6 day, 5 night camp for youths 8th to 12th grade last summer. SERR also sponsors and conducts a vigorous race calendar each running season which includes Juneau’s very own Marathon and Half Marathon event. Running events require consistent electronic timers, bibs, road signs, refreshments and permits among many other miscellaneous items. What kind of perks do you get with your SERR membership? - If you are a SERR Member you can use the Dimond Park Field House track for free by just registering your name at the front desk. This can be a great alternative to running in some of Juneau’s winter weather or as a way to avoid the boredom of running on a treadmill. - The Nugget Alaska Outfitter provides SERR members a with 10% discount on running gear. - Deals and discounts on exclusive SERR running gear and events (movies, speakers, etc.). In addition to all of the above listed benefits, you get the satisfaction of knowing that you are supporting a tried and true Juneau organization that provides Juneau runners with opportunities to enjoy their sport and add to the active Alaskan quality of life that we all appreciate.
